Brisbane River Stage
The Brisbane River Stage is an outdoor entertainment venue located on the Brisbane River. The River Stage has seen a variety of performers pass through its gates; from Australian acts Powderfinger and INXS, to international acts Muse to Korn; annual community carols performances to ‘Sing for Water’ – a fundraising outlet staged as part of the Riverfestival.
Brisbane’s River Stage has a two hectare site within the Brisbane City Botanic Gardens with a capacity of 9,000 people. It was inspired by the temporary and very successful River Stage used for World Expo ’88, located on the opposite side of the Brisbane River at the Expo site. Now used for local, national and international music festivals and performances, the venue consists of offices, dressing rooms, kitchen facilities, a covered rooftop hospitality area and parking is available onsite.
Riverstage is located within the Central Business District Area, situated next to the river and within the City Botanic Gardens providing a unique entertainment venue.
You may want to use public transport due to the lack of public car parking near the venue.
BUS –
There are bus stops on Alice Street outside the City Botanic Gardens.
1. Enter the City Botanic Gardens main entrance opposite Albert Street and follow the main path through the gardens.
2. Continue past the Cafe, this path will bring you to the top of the Riverstage complex.
TRAIN –
Southbank Railway Station
1. Follow the signs to the Maritime Museum/Goodwill Bridge.
2. Cross the Goodwill Bridge.
3. This will bring you to the bottom of the Riverstage complex and the gate entrance.
Distance is approximately 1.1 kilometers and walking time is approximately 22 minutes.
